Yet another game has joined the DLC “Season Pass” bandwagon. This time it’s THQ and Volition’s Saints Row: The Third.

The upcoming open-world game with an eye for the ridiculous will offer a one-time-fee pass that will lock would-be purchasers into all three planned DLC packs, plus the Nyte Blayde vampire hunter content, for Saints Rows: The Third for $19.99. That’s 15% less than what the content would cost if you were to buy it individually.

So what are the three DLC add-ons you’ll be buying into? Well, here’s a little bit about each, straight from the mouth of THQ:

Genkibowl VII (January 2012)
"The Wide World of Genki takes over Steelport for a sporting tradition totally and utterly unlike any other."

Gangstas in Space (Winter 2012)
"The Saints go intergalactic in this science-fiction misadventure."

The Trouble With Clones (Spring 2012)
"Copy-cat killing at its finest."

Sign us right the hell up for “Gangstas in Space.” Saints Row: The Third is just the next title to join the now long list of games adopting the “Season Pass” DLC formula. We’ve seen it with L.A. Noire, Mortal Kombat, Gears of War 3 and, most recently, with Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception. From a business standpoint for the publishers and developers, this tactic makes all the sense in the world. But there’s always that fear that you’ll buy into this early and it won’t live up to your expectations, then you’re S.O.L., I’m afraid.

So, will you be buying the Saints Row: The Third Season Pass? Let us know in the comments below. The game launches next week, November 15, 2011, complete with giant, purple dildo weapons.
