Listen up gamers, Microsoft is working towards making your dreams coming true because they are currently working on a new streaming service that will be like Netflix. But instead of movies and TV shows that you can binge until your partner leaves you, you’re going to be able to binge on video games.
The good news here is that Microsoft wants to make the games available to everyone, regardless of the console you are using. So that’s great news for those still on Atari. Although, it’s going to be tough to convince other companies like Sony and Nintendo to be all about this idea. But at the moment, there is at least some hope that they will agree.
Here’s what the head of Microsoft’s new gaming cloud division, Kareem Choudhry had to say about this new development:
“We’re looking at ways to make that content available to anyone no matter what device they’re on. We believe there is going to be two billion gamers in the world, and our goal is to reach every one of them.”
But as Fortune notes, even if Sony and Nintendo don’t agree, Microsoft could still push forward with this idea as the “majority of games, after all, are developed by third-party developers. Adding Microsoft’s games to the lineup could ensure a relatively well-rounded lineup of titles.”
No word yet as to when this service will be released, but for now you can dream on it and go back to yelling at preteens online.
