Meghan Markle is an American actress. She is best known for her role as Rachel Zane on the USA legal drama "Suits."
Born on August 4, 1981 in Los Angeles, California, Rachel Meghan Markle practically grew up in the business. The daughter of Thomas W. Markle, director of photography on the FOX comedy series "Married with Children," she was essentially raised on television sets. However, all of this didn't stop her from pursuing other avenues of life before settling into her work as an actress. Prior to her first television role on "General Hospital" in 2002, she had attended Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. After graduating with a degree in Theatre and International Relations, she even spent some time working for the U.S Embassy in Buenos Aires.
Of course, had Meghan not decided to come back and become an actress, we'd likely not be writing this bio. She did, however, and not long after landing her first television role, she was able to pick up a very small part in the film "A Lot Like Love" in 2005. From there, gigs in both venues continued to present themselves as the young actress came into her own. Soon, she would be playing guest roles on TV series from "90210" to "Fringe" while proceeding to land bigger roles in movies like "Remember Me" and "Horrible Bosses." With such an accomplished career already, Meghan hit the big time in 2011 when she was cast as one of the lead characters on the USA drama "Suit."

Still, there is much more to Meghan than just her acting career. A self-proclaimed "foodie," she is also the founder of the lifestyle website The Tig. It devotes itself to the sharing of tips on the subjects of food, travel, fashion and beauty, with an aim to "create a space to share all of these loves--to invite friends to share theirs as well, and to be the breeding ground for ideas and excitement--for an inspired lifestyle."
