Wendy Lauren Sanchez is a news anchor in Los Angeles who has worked in various capacities, including an entertainment host for “Extra!” and Fox’s “So You Think You Can Dance.” She will soon be seen as a reporter in the film “White House Down.”
For someone in front of the camera and in the public eye, Lauren Sanchez has kept a low profile. She is always the one asking questions in interviews, and there aren’t many instances where she is being the one interviewed.
What is known is after graduating high school in Albuquerque, Lauren Sanchez moved to Los Angeles and attended El Camino College. After a couple years, she qualified for a scholarship to the University of Southern California where she majored in Communications.
Lauren Sanchez began her career as a desk assistant at KCOP-TV. She also held positions as an anchor/reporter at KTVK-TV in Phoenix. She later moved to Fox Sports Net where she served as a correspondent for the sports magazine “Going Deep” and “Best Damn Sports Show Period.”

She hosted “So You Think You Can Dance” and “Extra” and left the dance show in order to have her second child. She has been a regular contributor on shows such as “The Joy Behar Show,” “The View” and “Larry King Live.” She was featured in “People’s 50 Most Beautiful” and “Us Weekly’s Hottest Bodies” issues.
Per her Twitter, Lauren Sanchez is a “Mother, Fox 11 LA, Good day LA, Pilot, former Extra weekend co-host.” She’s also been a reporter for Los Angeles’ KTTV and KCOP. She was also in feature films such as “The Day After Tomorrow,” “Hollywood Homicide” and “Fantastic Four.”
She was nominated for an Emmy for her coverage about the hazards of metal baseball bats.

Lauren Sanchez has a son from her relationship with Tony Gonzalez. She was later engaged to actor Henry Simmons, and later married Hollywood superagent Patrick Whitesell. Their wedding cost a reported two million dollars and guests included Whitesell’s clients Matt Damon, Hugh Jackman, Ben Affleck and Jessica Alba. She and Patrick have two children.
Lauren Sanchez stays in shape by running, and in 2005 ran her first Boston Marathon. She lives with her family in Los Angeles, California.
