Born Georgina Hagg, but known as Georgina Haig, she’s an Australian actress probably best known for her appearances in “Road Kill” and “Fringe.” But her big claim to fame in America is her recent casting on the show “Once Upon a Time” as Queen Elsa from “Frozen.”
Georgina Haig described herself on Twitter as “an Australian actress/actor who can’t work out whether to call herself an actress or an actor. The debate continues.” In another interview she described herself as “casually rambunctious, open, heart-on-sleeve, over-thinker, empathetic.”

She was considered for the role of Gwen Stacy in the 2012 film “The Amazing Spider-Man,” but lost out to Emma Stone.
In an interview from her work on “The Elephant Princess,” she said her favorite food was “Japanese definitely, and mandarins and sticky date pudding.” She also loves making event-specific playlists, like “Trying to get to sleep on a plane” or “fondue party early.” She hates the “squeaky sound you get when you have wet hands and you touch a plastic bag.”
A bit more trivia: she’s afraid of clowns and blames the film “It.” The three things that make her happy are “being with people I love, travel and then coming home.” Interestingly, she taught English in Vietnam for six months. “I would edit the group e-mails so mum didn’t find out about anything too dangerous.”
She added if she weren’t an actress, she said she’d be a food critic.
Georgina Haig likes people who have a sense of humor, are “ballsy, smart, maybe slightly sardonic,” but she hates litterers. She added that she’s most proud that she can “start a conversation with anyone. Can get me into trouble, too, sometimes.”
She has been married to scriptwriter Josh Mapleston since 2014. They currently reside in Los Angeles.
