Erica Dasher is an American television and film actress. She is known for playing the title role on the ABC Family series "Jane by Design."
Erica Dasher was born in Houston, Texas, where she spent her youth attending The Village School on the west side of Houston before transferring to Westside high School. After graduating in 2004, she moved to Los Angeles where she attended the University of Southern California majoring in theater. With dreams of one day becoming a producer and director, her life would soon take an unexpected but welcome turn.
After forming the production company Not Just Dead Bodies in 2007 with her friend Sami Kriegstein, the duo began writing, producing and directing several short films and documentaries including "Speak Easy," "This is Not a Club" and "Wave," the latter of which she also starred in. With such impressive stats under her belt in such a short time in Hollywood, Erica began to get noticed for her acting chops. Soon enough, she was starring in her first television series "The Lake" by 2009. This lead to more starring roles in short films "Chicken on a Pizza" and "Come Visit" in the years after.
As far as big breaks go, Erica got hers in 2012 when she was cast as lead character Jane Quimby on ABC Family's "Jane by Design." This allowed her to not only gain exposure on a national level, but work alongside veteran actresses like Andie MacDowell. Since the series came to a close after its first season. Erica has continued to thrive on both the small and big screen, guest starring on series like "CSI" while also landing prominent roles in films like "The Body Tree" and "Dating Daisy."
